PINTS emphasizes deep understanding of the wholesale/distribution tier: how to earn distributor mindshare, distributor-supplier dynamics.
Because PINTS has worked in distribution (Golden Eagle Distributors, etc.), they bring experience from inside that part of the supply chain—not just theoretical knowledge.
The co-founders aren’t “just consultants.” Kimberly Clements is a third-generation beer executive who managed numerous operations, and Daniel Lust similarly has senior leadership in distribution.
PINTS is hands on and works directly with distribution companies; they conduct “in the field” operations, negotiations, etc. and have the ability to give credible and more practical, grounded advice.
PINTS doesn’t just advise on strategy; they go from concept through execution. For example: business plan development → market entry → distributor relationships → operational optimization, etc.
Legal/litigation capabilities, which many strategy consultants do not offer (or do only peripherally).
PINTS is positioned as independent and objective, not tied to being part of a large consultancy or investment firm.
Because of PINTS’ smaller size, we can be more flexible with tailored work to the client, less overhead and more accessible.
Many firms specialize in either supplier-side (brewers, distillers) or distributor side; PINTS works with both. This gives us insight into both sides of the chain, which can let them better mediate or align strategies.
Because of PINTS’ backgrounds, the founders have relationships / credibility in the industry (e.g. speaking at Craft Brewers Conferences, participation in panels, etc.). This can help with insights, network effects, and smoother execution.
